Get Involved

Horsham Little League is always seeking volunteers!

As a Little League volunteer, you are empowered to engage with others, build friendships, and make a difference. And whether you’re a player or a volunteer, there is no better way to connect with people, and grow your social circle than by having fun at the Little League fields.

To volunteer in your local league is an investment in your family and community. Little League uses baseball and softball as the impetus to encourage a healthy and fun learning environment. Now is a great time to start thinking about your child’s most recent Little League season, and answer some questions. What did you like? What didn’t you like? How would you like to see the experience change? The fall is often when local Little League programs hold their Board elections and start preparing for next season. Actively thinking about what your role is going to be next year, and stepping up as a volunteer early in the planning can help make your season more enjoyable, and give you more time to be an active part of your child’s Little League experience.

Required Background Checks

Horsham Little League is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and we're always looking for people who would like to help out. Please contact us if you are interested in coaching, umpiring, maintaining the fields and equipment, snack stand, etc. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING using BACKGROUND MANAGER (use Code "hll"):

PENNSYLVANIA STATE MANDATED CHECKS

For all volunteers, the Pennsylvania State Legislature has a law that all persons having repetitive contact with children have the following clearances, criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police and Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services.  Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if the position the volunteer is applying for is a paid position; and the volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently passed a state law known as the Child Protective Services Law. The intent of this law is to protect the youth of Pennsylvania. All youth serving organizations within the Commonwealth are covered under this new law. Volunteers in all District 22 Leagues are required to provide background check clearances. Please review this information and take the required action.

Who is required to comply with the new Pennsylvania law?

All adults who have care, supervision, contact with children or routine interaction with children must have proper clearances. All registered Coaches and Assistant Coaches (all seasons), Team Parents, Umpires,  Board Members and all other direct-contact volunteers must have proper clearances.

Pennsylvania State Mandated Background Checks:

To Make this Process easier for the League as well as our Volunteers to manage we have partnered with BACKGROUND MANAGER which will walk you through the process or allow you to transfer your checks form another organization or allow you to upload your proof of certification to the BACKGROUND MANAGER. The Horsham LL Code is "hll" All Horsham LL Volunteers MUST use the BACKGROUND MANAGER in order to be eligable to Volunteer with Horsham LL. Thank You for your Cooperation with this important requirement. Please contact BACKGROUND MANAGER Support if you need any help with this. They can be contacted at 1-877-643-0047 or you can send them a message through their website or to [email protected].
